It was a real experience mounting “Legends of the Underground” at the Breakin Convention 2009. It was our 1st time at the BC and I must add it was an amazing 3 days. The whole set up and organization was on point, plus the fact the other performances were great, just added to an unreal event witnessed by 1000s of people. Legends was performed by an amazing cast of international dancers as well as local talent. Ranging from classical ballet to popping locking, jazz, African and modern, Legends brought all of these disciplines to a stage that could only be described as “Legendary”. Our aims and objectives at this point in time is to develop the idea to the next level and tour it world wide. We ultimately want to display legends within the concept of the story and show. We feel it would be an honor to work with best of he best, thus creating a real platform for “Legends of the Underground”.

On Saturday the 2nd of May Legends will perform an all new 30 minutes show which definitely will blow you away.

Breakin’ Convention is the International Festival of hip hop dance theatre, which has been produced annually by Sadler’s Wells Theatre since 2004, under the Artistic Directorship of Jonzi D. From May 2008 Breakin’ Convention is expanding its activity to include UK tours as well as the annual three day festival over the May Day Bank Holiday at Sadler’s Wells in London. It will also be creating Breakin’ Convention Hubs to develop work with local hip hop artists; producing year-round professional development courses for UK hip hop dance theatre companies, choreographers and artists and commissioning new work.

Following on from a dynamic performance at the World Press Photo Awards the Legends of the Underground team are preparing to premiere the full introduction to the World of legends of the underground. This will take place in London somewhere in 2009. There will be more details in the forums and press. Check back for updates.
